Final Ski day of the season.

Boy, great ski trip this year. When we got here I was worried there wasn't gonna be enough snow, but its dumped almost 5 feet in the past 10 days. The skiing has been wonderful, powder finally got nice enough for me to switch to some real skis (160cm) and today was a wonderful day, so much powder, had some of the best runs of the season. I've got a couple pics to share and a vid of me doing a nice lil jump. The big air jumps were closed when I finally got up there with my camera today, so this will have to suffice.



I'll be back in countdown city tomorrow then its off to California! Man, I love being free and traveling. Gotta finish my laundry and do some prep packing. Hope everyone has a great New Years, party responsibly. I'm planning on upholding the Beer Torch tradition here in Steamboat.

Here's a few shots I took today on the mountain.
On the left is me heading up in the gondola after lunch. To the right is the view between my snowblades at the top of Two O'clock. Thats the Yampa valley stretching out before me and the mountain you can barely see in the center is called The Sleeping Giant, take a look and see if you can spot why. (I'll get a better pic lato)

Hopefully these aren't too terrible quality, they're taken on my camera phone. Hopefully eventually I'll get my camera back from SAPD(pigs).

View from above Thunderhead

So here's the view from just above Thunderhead peak(click for larger) on the mountain, there's a lot of mountain above this, but that building on the right is where the gondola takes you, the highest point you can get to from the base. Its been dumping snow since late last night and I'm ready to hit the slopes, so I'll leave you with this.

I'm Dreaming of a Snowy Christmas

So the snow today was pretty good, I was worried there was hardly enough of it. Many of the runs were closed and they were making snow in a lot of places. After lunch though, the sun came out and it was a badass day.
Around 9 or 10 tonight while we were having dinner with a big group of family and friends, the snow started dumping. And it looks like it will continue for most of the time I'm here. At least I know the snow will be good and there should be lots of fun powder. I'm probably gonna have to swap my snowblades(99cm) out for a real pair of skis probably around 160cm or 180cm and really dig into that sweet sweet powder.

Amazing video of deep sea creatures

Stumbling around late night before bed I found this wonderful video of some sea creatures that are absolutely alien. I've seen some of these creatures on the Discovery channel but its still quite astounding.

First post FTW

Howdy, so I'm going on the road, actually am already in Colorado, so I decided to start blogging once again. Traveling today was fairly painless, our flight got delayed a bit in San Antonio but I just slept most of the time we had to wait and on the planes. So now I'm in a condo in Steamboat Springs with one of my Uncles, my three cousins, my parents and my grandparents. More family is expected to arrive over the next few days. Tomorrow I get to go get my skis and get up on the mountain. Oh how I can't wait to going skiing again, its been a year now and I'm stoked.

However, the real fun starts for me on the first once I get back to Countdown City. One of my closest friends, Matt Danger and I are going to California. Why you ask? Because San Antonio is boring as fuck thats why. But as an added bonus, Defiance, Ohio and This Bike is a Pipe Bomb play five shows together from San Fran to L.A. and you can bet your ass we plan to be at all of them. Then after that, we're free and clear of obligations and probably gonna head back up to the Bay Area to look for a job. Hopefully in the green sector like installing Solar Panels or something fun. We're planning on camping and just generally having a badass time. I bet you wish you were coming.

I'm going to keep updating from time to time as I can, probably will post pictures from my phone and all that goodness as well.
